The American Dream. In this land of opportunity, it means something different for everyone. For Madieu Williams, who moved to the United States from West Africa at age 9, it meant the excitement of limitless possiblity, urging each of us to plan, to work and ultimately to believe in ourselves. Eventually it was the dream of playing college and professional football, and to use his stature to create a foundation that addresses minority health issues. Through the Madieu Williams Foundation, Madieu reaches out to youth in the Cincinnati area and teaches them at an early age the importance of a healthy lifestyle. In addition, Madieu works with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cincinnati to create and implement an incentive program that rewards children for making positive decisions on healthier lifestyles, in school, at home and at community centers. His foundation also hosts a free annual youth football clinic.
